What Will The Home Inspection Entail?
- Visual nonintrusive inspection of conditions, such as wood rot, flashing, roof condition, installation and condition of exterior components
- Visual evaluation of appliances and their means of installation
- Visual inspection and function test of heating system, plumbing and electrical
- Condition and function of all windows and doors
- General safety evaluation of the property
- General condition and health within the building envelope, such as condition and installation of vapor barriers, ventilation and insulation
- Visual evaluation of structural components within both the basement and attic, if accessible
- The use of an forward looking infrared camera for areas that are unaccessible such as walls and sealed attic spaces
- Visual evaluation of the condition of the foundation
- Photo documentation to be included within inspection report
What Will The Septic Inspection Entail?
- A recorded video inspection of the septic line from the property to the septic tank for composition and condition
- Visual evaluation of the condition of the septic tank and its components such as the inlet baffle and the outlet baffle
- A recorded video inspection from the outlet baffle to the absorption field or distribution box
- Locating and evaluating the condition on the distribution box, where applicable
- A recorded video inspection of the internal components of the absorption field to check for standing water and root intrusion
- A test hole, in the absorption field, will be created to assess the condition of the soils and the presence of standing water
- Location of the septic systems components will be documented and presented within the detailed report
What Will The Sewer Inspection Entail?
- A recorded video inspection from the clean out of the main drain to the sewer line in the street*
*The portion of the sewer line that connects the house to the main sewer line in the street is owned by and maintained by the homeowner
